Question 1: How was “DelaA One-stop Indoor Climate Solutions” created?
Answer:
I worked as a Sales Consultant at the Shanghai Representative Office of Swiss IQAir AG from 2012 to 2017. During those five years, I witnessed several serious air pollution events in China and, as a result, the increased awareness in the Chinese market about the dangers of air pollution. As an employee of a sole-brand air purifier company, I felt restricted in the ways I could help customers as I could only recommend appropriate products from the company’s specific product portfolio. In effect, the IQAir HealthPro250, a powerful all-rounder, was generally the best fit.
As I gained a deeper understanding of the industry and more market feedback, I realized that customers needed a provider that could offer more neutral, professional and comprehensive services encompassing all types of indoor climate solutions. With this mission, we founded DelaA, the one-stop indoor climate solutions provider.
Our three main fields of expertise include Clean Air, Pure Water and Temperature Control. After assessing customers’ requirements, we carefully select high-quality products (and can also tailor make solutions) to bring them the best results for their space.

Some large companies outsource warehousing and logistics to a third-party company, which results in a loss of control over logistics and higher defective rates on products, especially abnormal fan noises, which are generally related to mishandling of products during domestic transportation. Q2: Do you feel that Chinese consumers understand the risks of air pollution and protect themselves sufficiently?
Answer:
After experiencing heavy pollution events over the past years, I believe Chinese people have become much more aware about air pollution than ever before. However, they need to heed more importance to the risks of air pollution and take measures to protect themselves. After experiencing the panic of heavy air pollution days, most people take average/medium pollution for granted, even though continued exposure to any pollution is dangerous for our health. Some people who have bought high-end air purifiers during major pollution events, fail to use them consistently throughout the year.
We live in an environment where air pollution is constantly 10 times, 30 times and sometimes even up to 100 times higher than a healthy range. If we don’t take effective measures against it, we are always passively smoking the smog. We might not get sick suddenly in most cases, but over time our health is affected. I always explain to customers that good quality machines can only bring good results if they are used correctly and regularly. Some people limit their usage so as to save electricity and filter costs, defeating the purpose of having the protection in the first place.
Although heavy pollution days have decreased in number of late, the annual number of polluted days per year hasn’t decreased much at all. It’s an unsettling but important fact to consider that most days of the year are polluted. And while measures are being taken to rectify China’s air pollution woes, fighting air pollution is a long and complicated process that cannot be quickly solved by moving factories or upgrading the quality of gasoline and diesel. The whole economy needs to be transformed to an upper-level sustainable mode. Vehicle emissions should be held to much higher standards with tough monitoring. It could take decades to lower pollution to appropriate levels.
Of course there are other forms of pollution to consider as well. Refurbishing pollution is another severe problem as many people like to refurbish their homes or offices on a frequent basis. As a result, we’re seeing increasing outbreaks of leukemia. We sincerely hope that our society becomes aware of this severe issue and chooses products that are environmentally friendly and of higher quality, while at the same time cutting down on unnecessary refurbishing. It’s also advisable to delay the time of moving into a newly furnished space by a minimum of 3 months (better to be 6 months!), and ventilate well during that time. Using circulators can assist with proper ventilation.
We also suggest that
Fresh Air Systems be designed into the space, so that it can essentially be “able to breathe by itself”, while helping expel pollutants from building materials and furnishings. The air in such a space can always stay clean, comfortably dry and oxygen rich, which is a much healthier environment for inhabitants. Fresh Air Systems are standard equipment of buildings in developed western countries, however they are rarely used in China, especially in residential buildings. We hope people here will become more aware of their importance.
Q3: What kind of advantages do Fresh Air Systems have over Air Purifiers? Can they only be installed when a space is being built?
Answer:
High-efficiency Fresh Air Systems feature outside-in circulation, constantly creating fresh air after filtering out most of the polluted particles, while dirty air is emitted through exhaust pipes. Compared with air purifiers, this system is more efficient and lower in cost. Its only drawback is that traditional Fresh Air Systems need to be installed with the Central Air Conditioning System, as the core systems and all ducts need to be covered within ceilings. However, there is now a wall-mounted, simplified Fresh Air System available with easier installation that can be used in most spaces.
By contrast, air purifiers feature internal circulation: while they are cleaning the air, bad air continues to enter through non-sealed spaces. Meanwhile, indoor CO2 levels continue to rise when windows and doors are kept closed, which purifiers cannot filter. Even with hospital-grade filtration efficiency, the result is not always that effective.
Fresh Air Systems are better products than air purifiers however most people don’t know about them as they haven’t been marketed as effectively.
Q4: How do you suggest dealing with refurbishing pollution?
Answer:
Firstly, it is essential to keep newly furnished spaces vacant for sufficient time and ensure good ventilation. Refurbishing is best done during summer when temperatures are higher, speeding up the release of pollutants.
Secondly, if possible, equip the space with effective Fresh Air Systems. If this isn’t possible, we suggest you buy or rent effective air purifiers.

Temperature Control is another important aspect of indoor climate solutions. Currently, we offer the following:

When it’s not hot enough to operate air-conditioners but normal fans don’t lower temperatures and their direct air can give you a chill, circulators can provide an effective solution by circulating the air in the space to create a comfortable natural temperature and moisture adjustment.

The Stiebel Eltron Electrial Fan Heater features quicker heating, lower noise and longer life than traditional light heating systems in bathrooms.
